Total Harmonic Distortion

Of a signal, the ratio of the sum of the powers of all harmonic frequencies above the fundamental frequency to the power of the fundamental frequency (expressed in dB or percent).
When an input signal goes through nonlinear electronic circuitry, the output signal will include some harmonic distortion.
